Report: Rangers' Odor a candidate to be demoted
Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports
Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor is a candidate to be demoted, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Analysis:
The demotion wouldn't necessarily be immediate, as it's clear the Rangers want Odor to develop into their everyday second baseman. The plan simply hasn't worked out thus far, with the 21-year-old sporting a horrid .146/.263/.244 slash line through 82 at-bats this season. He could probably use some more work at the Triple-A level, but it also wouldn't be surprising if he gets a chance to work his way out of the slump in the majors.
