The Oakland Athletics are cutting ties with Cody Ross.
Ross was released by the club Tuesday, three days after being designated for assignment.
The 34-year-old outfielder was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks - who chose to absorb his $9.5-million salary - in April before briefly catching on with the A's.
Ross recorded only two hits in 22 at-bats, but should end up with another club looking for a right-handed bench bat.
