Yasmani Grandal's recent stretch of success at the plate culminated Thursday afternoon in Milwaukee, where the 26-year-old enjoyed one of the finest performances ever by a catcher.

Grandal, who entered Thursday's series finale hitting .615 with four extra-base hits over his previous four games, went 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs and eight RBIs to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a decisive 14-4 victory over the Brewers at Miller Park.

Not a single Brewers pitcher was able to retire Grandal, who also drew a pair of walks in Thursday's romp while becoming just the ninth catcher in history to record at least two home runs while driving in more than seven runs in a single game.

Grandal also increased the Dodgers' win probability by 21.5 percent, placing him right between Ed Bailey and Ivan Rodriguez on the list of historic offensive performances by a catcher. The Cuba native is also the first Dodgers player to drive in eight runs in a game since James Loney collected nine RBIs against the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 28, 2006.
