VIDEO: Trout robs Tulowitzki of go-ahead HR in 10th, makes spectacular double play in 11th
Mike Trout set the stage for a dramatic Los Angeles Angels walk-off win by making a spectacular game-saving play in the 10th inning.
And again in the 11th.
Trout showcased his skills with a pair of highlight-reel defensive plays in extra innings Wednesday, beginning with an effortless leaping grab in the 10th to rob Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki of a tie-breaking homer.
The Angels star followed it up in the 11th by making a running catch on Daniel Descalso's fly ball and throwing a laser in stride to nail Carlos Gonzalez at the plate for the inning-ending double play.
"Every day, it seems like he does something I've never seen before," outfielder Collin Cowgill told reporters after the Angels' 2-1 win. "It's a privilege, man."
Trout's heroics continued in the bottom half of the inning when his intentional walk set the table for Albert Pujols to hit a game-winning sac fly and hand the Rockies their 11th consecutive loss. It's Colorado's longest losing streak since dropping 11 straight in July 2010.
