Brewers place Segura on 15-day DL with fractured finger

Benny Sieu / USA TODAY Sports

The month of May has been unkind to Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura.

After taking a pitch off the front of his helmet May 3 that resulted in concussion-like symptoms, Segura now finds himself on the 15-day disabled list for the first time in his career with a fractured pinkie finger on his right hand.

The Brewers have yet to release a timeline of how long they expect Segura to absent for.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that it's believed Segura suffered the injury Tuesday while sliding into third base, with the Brewers initially thinking he had only suffered a sore finger.
