Report: Rangers to activate Josh Hamilton on Monday
Progressive Field will be Josh Hamilton's next stop on his road back to the big leagues.
The Texas Rangers slugger will be activated Monday in time for an afternoon game against the Cleveland Indians. Rangers general manager and president of baseball operation Jon Daniels said it's been a long time coming, but he's done his time.
"Josh is physically and game ready to get started," Daniels said.
Hamilton opened the year on the 15-day disabled list due to offseason shoulder surgery.
After being sent to Triple-A Round Rock for a few rehab games, he batted .364/.391/.545 with one home run and five doubles. Hamilton was supposed to play Saturday, but the game was rained out.
After which, the club decided Hamilton was ready to make his long-awaited season debut for the Rangers.
The 34-year-old was re-acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on April 27.
