Report: Victor Martinez may not return from knee injury until after All-Star break
Victor Martinez's stint on the disabled list with knee inflammation may be a lengthy one.
The Detroit Tigers designated hitter may not return until after the All-Star break in July, reports Lynn G. Henning of The Detroit News.
Martinez is currently working out at the team's spring training facility in Florida, and will return to Detroit next week to be re-evaluated. He won't be inserted back into manager Brad Ausmus' lineup until he can swing from the left side of the plate in a game situation with no discomfort.
Ausmus on V-Mart return: "I think it's probably too early to try to predict. We originally thought it was going to be 2-3 weeks."

Martinez was placed on the DL on May 19 after he tweaked his surgically-repaired left knee in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
