Cardinals' Holliday ejected, ending 45-game on-base streak

For the first time this season, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday has failed to reach base.
The 35-year-old was ejected in the seventh inning Tuesday by home plate umpire Joe West, finishing 0-for-3 with a strikeout and ending his 45-game on-base streak.

Holliday's streak was the fifth-longest to start a season since 1990, according to Elias Sports, and was also a National League record.
