Top 5 outfielders in 2015 MLB Draft
The Arizona Diamondbacks will open the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft with the first overall pick June 8th.
Here's a list of the top five outfielders:
Kyle Tucker - H.B. Plant HS (Fla.)
Height/Weight: 6-4/175 lbs.
Kyle Tucker, a left-handed hitter, possesses one of the best bats among high school players in the draft. Scouts rave about his ability to make consistent, hard contact and he projects to feature plus hitting for average and power. He's expected to play a corner outfield position at the professional level.
Daz Cameron - Eagle's Landing HS (Ga.)
Height/Weight: 6-1/190 lbs.
The son of three-time Gold Glove winner Mike Cameron, Daz profiles to be a center fielder with solid tools in all categories. He projects to have average big-league power and is capable of stealing some bases. Cameron's ability to spray the ball around the field and his baseball instincts make him one of the most sought-after high school players available.
Andrew Benintendi - Arkansas
Height/Weight: 5-10/179 lbs.
One of four finalists for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, presented to the nation's top amateur baseball player, Andrew Benintendi is projected to be the top college outfielder selected in the draft. Featuring plus speed that should keep him in center field and allow him to be a legitimate base-stealing threat, the left-handed hitter has shown an increase in power in his sophomore season in Arkansas, hitting 18 home runs in 213 at-bats.
Trenton Clark - Richland HS (Texas)
Height/Weight: 6-0/200 lbs.
Trenton Clark enters the draft possessing considerable strength and average power with solid speed and above-average instincts. The left-hander is projected to be a left fielder, though there is a chance he could stay in center field due to his above-average arm.
Garrett Whitley - Niskayuna HS (N.Y.)
Height/Weight: 6-1/195 lbs.
A phenomenal athlete, Garrett Whitley is expected to stick in center field thanks to his exceptional speed and solid arm. His strength could allow him to be an above-average power threat from the right side of the plate. Whitley is one of the more well-rounded players in the draft.
