The Boston Red Sox grabbed one of the top collegiate hitters with their top pick Monday evening, selecting Arkansas product Andrew Benintendi with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 First-Year Player Draft.
Just one month away from his 21st birthday, Benintendi was one of few draft-eligible sophomores in this year's class, but compelled the Red Sox to grab him after hitting .380 (.489 OBP) in 63 games for the Razorbacks while leading the Southeastern Conference with 19 home runs.
