The St. Louis Cardinals selected high school right-hander Jake Woodford with the 39th pick overall in the 2015 MLB Draft.
A surprise pick in the first round, Woodford uses his height to deliver a downward plane mid-90s fastball. His only downfall is that he needs some polishing, but he's something to work on.
The best part about Woodford is that he's still got some ceiling to work with, though he projects as a pitcher out of the bullpen in the pros. Another sketchy situation for the Cardinals is that he seems keen on heading to his commitment, Florida.
