Third baseman Aramis Ramirez understands that his last season in the majors could end with him playing for a club other than the Milwaukee Brewers.

Expected to retire at season's end, Ramirez has come to terms with the reality he could be dealt by a last-place Brewers team poised to dump its veterans.

"I haven’t really thought about it. If I get traded, so be it." Ramirez told Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I can't control that. I'll go wherever. I don't have a no-trade clause.

"Everybody (is mentioned in trade rumors) at some point. I've been traded before. I got traded from the Pirates to the Cubs in July 2003. That's usually what happens. When you're not playing good, you're going to cut salary. They'll probably do it here."

It was reported last month that the Brewers were letting other teams know their veterans are available, and Milwaukee was reportedly in talks with the New York Mets earlier this week regarding position players.

"I can't control that so I can't let that affect my play out there," Ramirez said. "We might be sellers, who knows? We're playing pretty good right now. We still have 100 games to go. That's the front office. They're going to do what's good for the team."

A three-time All-Star, who slugged 15 home runs and hit .285 last season, Ramirez has struggled in 2015. The 36-year-old entered Saturday slashing .223/.263/.406 with seven home runs, 11 doubles, and 30 strikeouts in 51 games.
