VIDEO: Francisco Lindor singles in debut, hilariously trips rounding 1st base
Francisco Lindor experienced both the best, and most embarrassing moment of his professional baseball career in his major-league debut Sunday.
The top Cleveland Indians prospect was held out of Terry Francona's starting lineup, but came off the bench as a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh inning of Sunday's contest with the Detroit Tigers. The 21-year-old shortstop struck out in his first at-bat, but had a chance for redemption in his second plate appearance in the ninth inning.
Lindor laced a single to right field off Tigers closer Joakim Soria for his first big-league hit, but he hilariously tripped while rounding first base.

"I didn't feel my legs," Lindor told reporters after the game. "As soon as it hit the ground, I was thinking two. I didn't make it."
Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera appeared to have some fun with the rookie following the fall, and spoke about the incident after the game.
Cabrera on Lindor: "He was saying it was my fault. I'm like, 'What?' He was excited."

Lindor's blooper may remind Indians fans of another first-hit fail from 1993, when Manny Ramirez thought his first major-league hit was a home run. It wasn't.
Lindor finished 1-for-2 as the designated hitter in the 8-1 loss to the Tigers, and has yet to make an appearance in the field.
