Cowgill had a setback in his recovery late last week, just a few days after he resumed taking batting practice. Angels manager Mike Scioscia previously suggested Cowgill might not need a rehab assignment, but with the outfielder's absence now stretching to at least four weeks, a stint in the minors seems much more likely.
