Sandoval sprains ankle, Swihart sprains foot in Red Sox loss

It has been an eventful week for Pablo Sandoval.
The Boston Red Sox third baseman left Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals in the fifth inning after his leg buckled on an errant throw to first base. Upon his removal in favor of Travis Shaw, he was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.
Sandoval's injury comes a day after he went 2-for-4 with a run scored, and two days after Instagate.
The news came at a rough time, as the Red Sox hadn't had a chance to digest an injury they sustained in the top half of the inning.
In the top half of the fifth, rookie catcher Blake Swihart limped off the field after getting thrown out at third base. The Red Sox announced that Swihart had exited the game with a sprained left foot.
