Reds' Phillips suffers injuries to both hands in loss to Mets
Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sport
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips left Sunday's game against the Mets with injuries to both of his hands, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis:
Phillips was scratched from the lineup Wednesday due to a jammed thumb, but he returned in short order for Thursday's game. He homered off of Steven Matz on Sunday, then appeared to injure his hand during a later at-bat. Now dealing with injuries to both hands, Phillips may not be available for Monday's game against the Twins.
