Eephus pitches make hitters do strange things.
Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval couldn't resist R.A. Dickey's 64-mph offering Monday night when he literally left the ground to take a hack at the pitch during his second-inning at-bat.

Sandoval made weak contact with the pitch, resulting in an easy ground out to Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes. According to ESPN Stats & Info, the pitch was 5.1 feet above the ground - the highest pitch put in play by any player over the last five years.
