Alex Rodriguez is getting back his 3,000th hit ball.
Zack Hample, 37, is returning the historic ball to A-Rod in exchange for a $150,000 charitable donation by the New York Yankees to Pitch In For Baseball, which supplies baseball equipment to kids in need.
Hample, who is an avid ball-hawker, had initially decided to keep the piece of baseball history upon making the lucky catch on June 19, when Rodriguez blasted a homer into the right-field stands at Yankee Stadium.
Here's A-Rod's 3,000th hit/ball. Told the @Yankees I'm keeping it. Got it authenticated by @MLB. This is un-REAL. pic.twitter.com/qEo2qX9Iru
