VIDEO: Cubs' Bryant hits 2nd career grand slam in 2-homer, 6-RBI effort vs. Marlins
Kris Bryant had his own version of July 4 fireworks.
In his first two at-bats Saturday, the Chicago Cubs third baseman roped two home runs against the Miami Marlins. The first was a two-run shot to left to open up the scoring in the first inning.

The second was a mammoth grand slam, also to left field, giving his club all the run support it needed in a 7-2 victory.

To put things in perspective, Bryant drove in six of the Cubs' seven runs, crossing the plate twice himself. Following the slam, the rookie was greeted to a standing ovation after a mandatory curtain call.
In the process, he became the first Cubs rookie to hit two grand slams in a single season since Billy Williams did it in 1961, and the first National League player with two homers and six RBIs on July 4 since Willie McCovey in 1962.
