Josh Donaldson leaves games vs. Royals with flu-like symptoms
Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson left Saturday's contest with the Kansas City Royals in the sixth inning with flu-like symptoms.
Danny Valencia has taken over duties at the hot corner.
Hopefully, Donaldson's illness doesn't spill over to the All-Star break. The leading vote-getter is scheduled to take part in Monday's Home Run Derby and Tuesday's All-Star Game.
The club should provide an update on Donaldson's status for Sunday's series finale with the Royals following the game.
