From underdog to juggernaut. The Toronto Blue Jays' surge up the standings is causing movement in Las Vegas.
On the heels of securing first place in the AL East in mid-August for the first time since 1993, the Blue Jays are now 4-1 favorites to win the World Series, according to odds released by Bovada on Thursday.
Following several key acquisitions, including blockbuster trades for David Price and Troy Tulowitzki, Toronto has reeled off 10 straight wins and erased an eight-game deficit in the division in just two weeks.
The Blue Jays' dominance has triggered oddsmakers to revisit their improved odds from just two weeks ago, when they were listed as high as 16-1 favorites to win their first title in 22 years.
