Cardinals pitchers extend scoreless innings streak to 36
The best team in the majors continues to flaunt the league's most dominant pitching staff.
St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jaime Garcia tossed seven shutout innings Saturday, allowing just two hits to the Milwaukee Brewers before handing the ball over to the bullpen to preserve the 3-0 win.
It was the third straight game in which Cardinals pitchers posted a shutout, extending the team's scoreless innings streak to 36.
"You just expect that these guys are going to go out and give up less than two runs," third baseman Matt Carpenter told reporters. "We're spoiled. It's been a lot of fun to watch them do it."
