Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

When New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann blasted a three-run shot in Friday's contest against the Cleveland Indians, he reached rarefied air.

With the homer, McCann's 20th of the season, he joined Yogi Berra and Mike Piazza as the only catchers in MLB history with 20 or more homers in eight consecutive seasons.

Year Team HR

2011 Braves 24
2012 Braves 20
2013 Braves 20

For McCann, it's the ninth time he's accomplished the feat, making him the fifth catcher to have at least nine seasons of 20 or more homers.
