Rangers agree to minor-league deal with Drew Stubbs

The Texas Rangers added to their injury depleted outfield Monday by agreeing to a minor-league deal with Drew Stubbs.
Stubbs was designated for assignment by the Colorado Rockies earlier this month after hitting .216/.286/.431 with five home runs and 50 strikeouts in 51 games. He's set to join the organization with Triple-A Round Rock.
The 30-year-old has appeared in all three outfield positions and is coming off a 2014 campaign in which he slashed a career-high .289/.339/.482 with 15 home runs and 20 stolen bases. Stubbs is a free agent at the remainder of the season.
Texas recently placed outfielders Josh Hamilton and Leonys Martin on the disabled list and have rookie Ryan Strausborger as the lone option on the bench.
