It appears Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco's first impression about his injured wrist was correct.
The rookie was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a fractured left wrist and is expected to miss the next two-to-four weeks.
"I don't think it's a future issue," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "But we're going to be cautious with him. We have to be as cautious as we can. He's too important to us."
Franco has been held out of the lineup since Aug. 11 when he was hit by a pitch from Arizona Diamondbacks starter Jeremy Hellickson. The injury was initially diagnosed as a contusion.

"I was scared. The only thing I was thinking about when the ball hit me was that it was broken," Franco said after the game.
The 22-year-old is one of the National League's top rookies. In 77 games, he's hitting .277/.340/.490 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs.
With Franco out, the door opens up for Chase Utley to receive regular playing time after Amaro said earlier in the day the 13-year veteran is unlikely to be dealt this season.
