VIDEO: Pujols ties Manny with 555th career HR
Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols continued his trek up history's home run leaderboard Wednesday afternoon, tying former Boston Red Sox icon Manny Ramirez with his 555th career homer during his team's series finale at O.co Coliseum.
Pujols, who entered Wednesday's contest with just five homers and a .613 OPS over his previous 38 games, notched his 35th of the season when he deposited a slider from Sonny Gray over the wall in left-center field in the top of the second.

When Pujols made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2001, Ramirez had already established himself as one of baseball's most feared right-handed hitters. After his historic rookie season, however, Pujols quickly joined Ramirez among the game's most revered batsmen, and the two native Dominicans spent the better part of the next decades terrorizing pitchers in their respective leagues.
Player | HR | G | OPS | ISO | wRC+ |

Pujols | 555 | 2245 | .981 | .269 | 156 |
Ramirez | 555 | 2302 | .996 | .273 | 153 |
Ramirez needed 9,774 plate appearances, spread out over nearly two decades in the major leagues, to record 555 home runs. Pujols recorded his 555th homer in his 9,776th career trip to the plate.
