Score the helmet an assist on this one.
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey appeared to have Justin Turner beat at second base during a fourth-inning steal attempt Wednesday, until the Los Angeles Dodgers' third baseman received some unexpected help from his bouncing helmet.
When Turner's lid fell off, it conveniently blocked the tag from Giants shortstop Ehire Adrianza, allowing Turner to maneuver his way around the tag and slide into second base safely.

Turner's efforts didn't result in a run, but Clayton Kershaw's performance didn't need much support. The Dodgers lefty struck out 15 to lead his club to a 2-1 win and three-game sweep of the defending World Series champions.
