VIDEO: Ortiz breaks Williams' club HR record with 496th career blast
David Ortiz is one step closer to reaching the 500-homer plateau.
The Boston Red Sox slugger belted the 496th home run of his career in Saturday's 9-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, hooking a Jerome Williams offering just inside Pesky's Pole at Fenway Park.

The solo blast - Ortiz's 30th of the campaign - capped an eight-run fourth inning for the Red Sox.
"You know we're all engaged every time he comes to the plate," Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo said postgame. "It's an exciting time for every one of us. No matter what we try to say, downplay it, he's reaching a special milestone and it's an exciting time for all. He's a great leader and a great friend to everybody on this team."
Ortiz now has nine 30-homer seasons with Boston, passing Hall of Famer Ted Williams for the most in team history.
