Nori Aoki's concussion symptoms are back and they may end his season.
The San Francisco Giants outfielder was taken out of Saturday's lineup against the Colorado Rockies after calling team trainers from his hotel in the morning to report feeling light-headed.
Aoki was activated from the disabled list on Aug. 20 after supposedly recovering from his concussion. The recurrence of the concussion symptoms jeopardizes the outfielder's status for the remainder of the season.
"We need to get him evaluated," Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters. "It’s a little concerning with Nori. He was just tired, light-headed. He did not feel like his normal self."
After Aoki was hit on the helmet by a pitch Aug. 9, he suffered headaches that landed him on the 7-day concussion DL.
Since returning to the lineup, the 33-year-old is hitting .200/.259/.340 and has reported experiencing disorientation and discomfort in the outfield.
