Athletics' Vogt takes foul tip to groin, taken to hospital for tests

Oakland Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt left Sunday's game with the Seattle Mariners in the eighth inning after he was struck in the groin by a foul tip off the bat of Ketel Marte and was taken to hospital for further testing.

Vogt walked off gingerly to the clubhouse after suffering the painful injury, and manager Bob Melvin projects the backstop could miss several games.
The first-time All-Star is enjoying a breakout 2015 campaign, hitting .271/.349/.467 with 18 homers and 67 RBIs in 125 games.
