San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy gave some troubling news Monday regarding injured second baseman Joe Panik.
"I'd say odds lean more toward his season being over," Bochy said of Panik, who underwent an MRI on his back Monday, but is still waiting for results.
The 24-year-old has reportedly not felt any improvement in his back which kept him sidelined for most of August. He returned to the lineup Sept. 7, but only played three games before the lower back inflammation returned.
He has an impressive batting line of .312/.378/.455 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs.
