Jung Ho Kang may be down, but he's not out.
The Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and a displaced tibial plateau fracture in his left knee on Sept. 17. However, he still lined up with his teammates prior to Wednesday's crucial wild-card showdown with the Chicago Cubs, much to the delight of the home crowd at PNC Park.

Kang was rolled onto the field after Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan, who ended the rookie's season with a takeout slide, was greeted with a chorus of boos during pregame introductions.
The 28-year-old Kang hit .287/.355/.461 with 15 homers and 58 RBIs in 126 games.
