The Pittsburgh Pirates couldn't get to Jake Arrieta over six innings in the National League wild-card game, so they took a different approach.
With the Pirates trailing 4-0 in the top of the seventh inning, Pittsburgh reliever Tony Watson appeared to intentionally throw at the Chicago Cubs ace, resulting in both benches clearing.

Umpires issued warnings to both benches once the dust settled, and Pirates first baseman Sean Rodriguez was ejected after appearing to throw a punch in the scrum. He followed up his ejection by taking out his frustrations on a Gatorade tub in the dugout before exiting.
