Curtis Granderson picked a good time to snap his postseason home run drought.
The New York Mets outfielder extended his team's record for playoff homers when he took Kansas City starter Edinson Volquez deep for a solo shot to right in the fifth inning of Game 1 on Tuesday.

Granderson's first home run of the postseason was the 15th of the playoffs for the Mets, who took a 2-1 lead over the Royals with the tiebreaking blast.
The veteran slugger entered the World Series batting .314/.405/.457 through nine playoff games, but hadn't hit a home run since the final day of the regular season.
