Kansas City Royals rookie Raul A. Mondesi made major-league history at Citi Field in Game 3.
Two weeks ago, the 20-year-old was playing in the Arizona Instructional League; on Friday he became the first player in MLB history to make his major-league debut in the World Series.
The pinch-hit at-bat lasted a mere four pitches, as New York Mets starter Noah Syndergaard blew Mondesi away with a 98-mph fastball.

The Royals' top prospect was added to the 25-man roster prior to Game 1 to serve as a backup infielder and base-stealing threat.
Mondesi's father, Raul Mondesi, appeared in 1,525 major-league games without ever reaching the World Series.
