The Baltimore Orioles signed Korean first baseman Ji-Man Choi to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun.
The deal reportedly includes a July 1 opt-out clause.
In 2015, Choi appeared in 18 games for the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate, hitting .298/.403/.421 with one home run and 16 RBIs.
He missed the majority of the year after breaking his leg in spring training. He also served a 50-game suspension for a positive drug test in 2014.
Choi spent the past five seasons in the Mariners organization, posting a .302/.404/.481 hitting line in the minors.
