PHOTO: MLB creates '99.3' emoji to honor Griffey's HOF record

Twenty-four may be the most recognizable number attached to Ken Griffey Jr., as he sported it on the back of his jersey during an illustrious 22-year career, but a new number may very well be associated with "The Kid" for the remainder of time.

Griffey was officially elected into the Hall of Fame, along with Mike Piazza, on Wednesday, and in the process surpassed Tom Seaver (98.8 percent) for the highest percentage of votes received by a player when he earned 99.3 percent of eligible votes.

In honor of the record-setting number, Major League Baseball released a new emoji.

Griffey enters the Hall after an incredible career that included 630 home runs, 1,836 RBIs, 13 All-Star appearances, 10 straight Gold Gloves, and the 1997 American League MVP award.
