The best flows from MLB spring training
Spring training is here, and while that means the sights and sounds of big-league baseball are back, it's also time for players to pose for the camera and flash their pearly whites during photo days.
During the sets, some of the league's biggest superstars get the time and attention to look the part of franchise players, and rightfully so. Others may just get the standard MLB.com player-page treatment. But one thing that stands out during all of the shoots is hair.
Who has the most? Who wears their hair the best? Who is the king among kings of baseball flow?
Here's some of the best flow from big-league photo days.
C.J. Wilson
You don't get your own Head and Shoulders campaign and the clever title of "Mane Man" without a nice 'do. Whether C.J. Wilson's wavy brown locks are finely kept or an utter mess, his flow is some of the finest in the majors.
Colby Rasmus
Colby Rasmus is just letting it all go, and while his mop can get out of hand and ruin jerseys, the 29-year-old Houston Astros slugger rocks the long locks better than most. It also looks so sweet flowing in the wind when he hammers a ball to deep right.
Emmanuel Burris
Emmanuel Burris was once a prized prospect in the San Francisco Giants organization after the team drafted him in the first round of 2006 draft. While his status as a major leaguer has diminished into more of a role player over the years, his dreadlocks remain a killer look.
Burris and his sweet 'do are trying to earn a spot on a rebuilding Philadelphia Phillies squad out of spring camp, where he's currently a non-roster invite.
John Lamb
When the Cincinnati Reds acquired John Lamb from the Kansas City Royals last season as part of the package for Johnny Cueto, they also received some of the sweetest blond locks in the game.
He hasn't had much time to show off his hair in the bigs so far, making just 10 starts, but Lamb's projected to make the Reds' rotation in 2016, so his wavy flow will likely get some featured television time in the Cincinnati area.
Josh Hader
Josh Hader's impressive fastball-slider combination may have been what put him on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list, but his incredible flow should almost certainly make him a memorable face as he gets set to become a key member of the Milwaukee Brewers' rotation of the future.
While Hader is likely destined to begin the year at Triple-A, his unforgettable 'do is major-league ready.
Chris Archer
While this shot from the Tampa Bay Rays' photo day makes Chris Archer look like the pitching stud he is, it doesn't do his flow any justice.
Archer sports some of the best hair in the game, so prepare to feast your eyes on his incredible afro as it continues to grow during spring camp.
Soon enough, Archer won't even be able to wear a ball cap.
Jacob deGrom & Noah Syndergaard
A hair story couldn't be complete without the dynamic hair duo of New York Mets hurlers Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard.
Yes, the two youngsters are outstanding on the mound, and were big parts of the Mets' run to the World Series last season, but their recognizable hairstyles have given them extra notoriety, and a certain panache that's perfect for "The Big Apple."
