Twins amazed by Elton John's baseball IQ
The Minnesota Twins went to Elton John's concert in Florida on Wednesday night expecting to be amazed by his musical talents, but that's not the only way he impressed the squad.

John engaged in some in-depth baseball talk with the players before the show, leaving them awed by his knowledge of his favorite team - the Atlanta Braves.
"People said he's a big baseball fan, but I was like, 'C'mon. He's from England and all that,"' Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe told MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. "But sure enough, he's lived in Georgia for more than 20 years and watched the Braves, so that's how he learned about baseball. He became a Braves fan right as they went on that run. So he was really insightful about sports, in general. We had a cool talk with him."
John bought a home in Atlanta in 1991 - the exact same year the Braves fell in seven games to the Twins in the World Series.
"He was throwing out names like Mark Lemke," Minnesota first baseman Joe Mauer exclaimed. "You'd think he'd say like (John) Smoltz or (Greg) Maddux, but he knew about guys like Lemke."
Lemke manned second base for the Braves from 1988-97, and was certainly one of the lesser-known players on Atlanta's star-studded rosters over that span.
John dedicated "Your Song" to the club during the show, and seemed elated to schmooze with the Twins backstage ahead of the performance.
