Nationals: Arroyo's torn labrum diagnosis premature
Reports of Bronson Arroyo's partially torn labrum may be slightly premature.
At least that's what the Washington Nationals are saying, according to MASN's Mark Zuckerman. The club is apparently holding off on confirming the diagnosis, which would likely be a career-ending injury, until it receives an MRI from one of Arroyo's previous teams to compare with the one done yesterday.
"We don't have to make a rash decision on anything," manager Dusty Baker said. "I think we owe him that as a man and as a professional."
Added Baker, "(Arroyo) was in good spirits. On the other hand, you could tell he was a little bewildered by this whole thing."
That said, Arroyo was hugging teammates in clubhouse this morning. Everyone seems to sense what the likely result of all this is.

The 39-year-old was once one of the most durable pitchers of baseball, but has dealt with a string of arm injuries in the past two seasons, and hasn't pitched since 2014.
