Which MLB players would make good superheroes?
With "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" set to hit theaters Friday, it got us thinking about players around the majors with superhuman qualities.
Here are 11 MLB personalities that can be compared to superheroes:
Captain America - Giancarlo Stanton

Derek Jeter used to be MLB's patriotic supersoldier, but Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has assumed the identity since The Captain retired. Stanton's tank-like physique is the envy of every player in the league, and just like Captain America, he makes everyone around him better on the battlefield.
Batman - Matt Harvey

Harvey is known as the The Dark Knight of Gotham to fans in the New York area, a nickname Sports Illustrated bestowed upon the pitcher in May 2013 with a famous cover shot. Harvey, who had the knobs of his bats engraved with "Dark Knight" recently, is one of the top New York socialites in his downtime, closely resembling the elitist lifestyle of Bruce Wayne.
Thor - Noah Syndergaard

Syndergaard's long-flowing, blond locks immediately associated him with the hammer-wielding god upon his ascent to the majors, and he's fully embraced the persona ever since. The Mets hurler strikes down his opponents with ease, and boasts an electric arsenal of pitches to do his bidding with.
The Flash - Billy Hamilton

Known for his blazing speed on the basepaths, Hamilton could easily audition for a role as The Flash. The Cincinnati Reds outfielder has stolen 113 bases over the past two seasons and is showing no signs of slowing down. You can almost see a vapor trail when Hamilton takes off, leaving opposing catchers scratching their heads.
Wolverine - Hunter Pence

Wolverine is a mutant who possesses animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, and a powerful regenerative ability. Pence not only has the shaggy hair and beard associated with Wolverine, but he also fancies himself as a fast healer. His baseball instincts are unrivaled, and although his unorthodox throwing technique gets criticized, he's still one of the most interesting men in baseball.
The Thing - Chris Davis

Davis may be a one-tool player, but he certainly excels at his craft. The Orioles slugger uses his brute strength to propel baseballs deep into the stands, and his Baltimore uniform ironically resembles the orange exterior of the fictional superhero. "It's clobberin' time!" is The Thing's famous catchprase, and we're guessing Davis likely uses the same battle cry before stepping up to the plate.
Spider-Man - Mike Trout

Trout's Spider-Man grab in September last year put the baseball world into cardiac arrest, and he showcased an uncanny ability to stick to the wall in order to make the ridiculous catch. Widely considered the best player in the game, Trout also possesses super strength and agility like Spider-Man. He might not shoot webs out of his wrists, but he can seemingly stick the ball wherever he pleases on the diamond while at the dish.
Superman - Kevin Pillar

Pillar has quickly developed into the one of the best defenders in the majors, making several high-flying grabs in 2015. The usually mild-mannered Toronto Blue Jays center fielder even revealed his identity as Superman before Game 2 of the AL Championship Series last year, stating he can actually fly. He's also assumed the Superman identity in his Twitter bio.
Ghost Rider - Yoenis Cespedes

The Cuban slugger stole headlines this spring with his awesome vehicle collection, which also included a badass Polaris Slingshot 2 that Ghost Rider would surely approve of. Cespedes also proved his wrangling skills by arriving to camp on horseback, suggesting he'd easily be able to wield the character's flaming chain. You might even say Cespedes has sold his soul to baseball.
Daredevil - Brett Lawrie

Lawrie is always willing to put his body on the line despite the consequences. Unquestionably the most fearless and energetic player in the majors, the oft-injured infielder never backs down from a challenge or fight. His fiery persona often gets under the skin of the opposition, as evidenced by a feud last season with the Kansas City Royals.
Professor X - Joe Maddon

The leader and founder of the X-Men, Professor X is the ultimate mastermind because of his ability to read and control the minds of others. Always promoting a greater good with his positive aura, Maddon peacefully and respectfully shapes the young minds of his baseball players using an outside-of-the-box coaching mentality.
