A spring contest between the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves was canceled during the seventh inning Friday due to rain; a pretty typical reason for a game to get called off.
Except this time around, the intensity of the storm that caused the stoppage at Champion Stadium was both beautiful and scary.

The storm cloud, which also canceled two other games in Florida, looks somewhat reminiscent of the alien takeover scene from the original "Independance Day" film.
