Ferrell (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Once he's healthy, Ferrell is a candidate to get sent down to Triple-A Toledo, but it's possible that his return will linger on deep into the first half of the season.
