VIDEO: Giovinco levels for Toronto FC after Revs have penalty claim ignored
Reuters
Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco had a bit of fortune leading up to this, his second goal of the year. On the receiving end of a Jozy Altidore pass, the Atomic Ant scored after his shot rebounded off the foot of a New England Revolution defender.
But that wasn't the only bit of luck Toronto had in the build-up; the Revs had a penalty shot denied by the referee, as well as an earlier foul that also went unnoticed.
TFC fans would point to a series of controversial referee decisions not going its way in the last three rounds as the balancing of the proverbial scales, though.
