Orlando City announced Thursday the club has acquired central defender Jose Aja out of Uruguayan outfit Club Nacional on a six-month loan with a purchase option.
"We are excited to have Jose join the team," Lions assistant general manager Niki Budalic said in a statement. "He is a young, talented defender that we have been looking at for a while because we knew he could come in and make an impact on our team.
"We look forward to working with him and benefiting from his contributions."
Aja spent last season on loan with Racing Club de Montevideo, recording two goals and an assist while featuring in 12 matches. The 6-foot-4 defender joins Orlando after making just 22 Uruguayan first-division appearances.
