Watch: TFC's Giovinco scores pair of gorgeous free-kicks in victory
USA Today
Sebastian Giovinco returned to the scoresheet in style Saturday after his hat-trick helped lift Toronto FC past D.C. United with a dominating 4-1 victory at BMO Field.
After going eight matches without a goal, the Italian tormented the D.C. backline with his crafty play around the box and remarkable precision from set-pieces.
The 29-year-old opened the scoring 20 minutes into the fixture when his free-kick cleared a five-man wall before dipping under the crossbar.
Travis Worra attempted to make up for his mistake when Giovinco stepped up for another set-piece. The D.C. 'keeper moved to the far post to compensate for another swerving effort, but ultimately failed to get a hand on the shot as it sailed over his outstretched arm.
