The Seattle Sounders are now officially in the post-Sigi Schmid era after midfielder Cristian Roldan scored against the LA Galaxy to give his side a 1-0 lead 10 minutes before the hour mark.
Roldan finished off a long sequence of chances as the ball fell kindly to his feet at the edge of the box after Nelson Valdez flicked and juggled to control while surrounded by defenders.
The shot beat goalkeeper Brian Rowe to his right and gave the home crowd a rare chance to celebrate.
