Sebastian Giovinco didn't waste any time putting his mark on Sunday's encounter against the Columbus Crew.
After an impressive opening five minutes, the Italian playmaker helped put Toronto FC up 1-0 before the game was 10 minutes old when his long-distance effort took a fortunate deflection off teammate Tsubasa Endoh before soaring over goalkeeper Steve Clark and into the back of the net.
Unfortunately for last season's league MVP, Endoh was credited as the goal-scorer instead of Giovinco.
Giovinco did, however, get his name on the scoresheet minutes later after a clever give-and-go with Jay Chapman.
