Kaka hails Ronaldo: 'He shows every year that he can beat himself'
Kaka may be captaining the Orlando City ship these days in MLS, but the former Real Madrid player has kept his finger on the pulse of happenings with his old club as well as friend and former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Brazilian praised Ronaldo after a 2015-16 season that saw the Portugal icon lift the Champions League title as well as propel his country to international glory at Euro 2016.
While adding two more major titles to his trophy case is impressive, Kaka figures Ronaldo, 31, isn't done just yet.
"It's incredible, he shows every year that he can beat himself," Kaka told Omnisport, as quoted by ESPN FC. "Every year he has motivation to keep going, to keep scoring and be the best player in the world.
"Sometimes when you have won a lot of things in your career, it is normal to slow down a little bit so maybe the motivation in your mind and mentality is not easy.
"But he is so incredible like (Lionel) Messi because these guys have won everything they could and they still want to win, they still want to be the best. It's incredible."
