Raiola: 'Many clubs are interested in Ibrahimovic'
It was Thijs Slegers, a Dutch journalist, who suggested Mino Raiola to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker was in search of an agent, and the fearless negotiator met the product of Malmo FF in a sushi restaurant in Amsterdam. It was the beginning of a friendship that took Ibrahimovic to European football's biggest clubs, including Juventus, Internazionale, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United.
The next chapter of Ibrahimovic is waiting to be written, as United released the Scandinavian forward after one season with the Red Devils. Speaking to Sky Italy, Raiola said there's no shortage of interest in his client, mentioning Major League Soccer and Italy as "possible" destinations.
In March, ESPN FC's Doug McIntyre reported that the LA Galaxy extended a contract offer to Ibrahimovic that would make him the highest-paid player in the history of MLS.
"Many clubs are interested in Ibrahimovic, from MLS in the USA, but also in Italy would be possible," Raiola declared. "Napoli? Everything is possible, but I think Napoli will not be his next club."
Jose Mourinho confirmed in November that United would take up the option on Ibrahimovic's contract, but according to the Guardian's Mark Dobson, an injury to a cruciate ligament ended Zlatan's career with the Red Devils. The ailment was acquired in the second leg of the club's tie against RSC Anderlecht in the semi-final of the Europa League.
